Fairness for our Arts and Culture
Plaid Cymru is deeply concerned and strongly opposed to the cuts to Welsh cultural organisations introduced by Labour in Wales, and the impact that this is already having on Welsh national life.
For many years, the funding for Welsh institutions has not kept pace with inflation and costs, meaning that they have been asked to continue to provide the same, or more, services without being properly funded to do so.
This has now reached a critical point that threatens the existence of vital cultural, heritage and arts organisations in Wales and safeguarding our national collections for future generations.
Having long recognised that Wales is under-funded by the UK Government at Westminster, Plaid Cymru support additional funding being provided that will directly assist these to carry out the roles that they are required to deliver.
