Liz Saville Roberts was elected as Dwyfor Meirionnydd Member of Parliament in May 2015, the first woman to represent the region and Plaid Cymru’s first female MP. She previously worked as a news reporter in London and North Wales, and then as a Further Education lecturer with Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, where she developed Welsh language education.
She was a Gwynedd county councillor between 2004 and 2015, representing Morfa Nefyn on the Llŷn Peninsula. Originally from Eltham in London, Liz learnt Welsh whilst at university in Aberystwyth. Liz is a member of the Welsh Affairs Select Committee.
She has lived in Morfa Nefyn with her husband Dewi since 1993 and they have two daughters, Lowri and Lisa. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and walking. She’s also a big animal lover and has two horses, named Titch and Espi, two dogs and a goat.
Ben Lake

Ben Lake was elected as Ceredigion Member of Parliament in June 2017, the youngest person to represent the constituency and Plaid Cymru’s youngest ever MP. He has previously worked for Elin Jones, the constituency’s long-standing AM, and as a researcher for Plaid Cymru in the National Assembly for Wales.
Ben was born and raised in Lampeter. He attended Ysgol Gyfun Llambed, before studying History at Oxford University, where he enjoyed playing Rugby and Cricket.
Ben has gone to Westminster with a keen sense of the needs of Ceredigion in the crucial Brexit negotiations. He will be fighting for the economy of the constituency, including its universities and agriculture, and he is eager to make sure that the voices of young people are clearly heard.
Hywel Williams
Constituency: Arfon
Portfolio: Brexit, International Trade, Work and Pensions, Cabinet Office
Hywel was born in Pwllheli in 1953 and was educated in Pwllheli and the University of Wales (Bangor and Cardiff).
Before being elected as MP in 2001, Hywel worked as a freelance lecturer, consultant and author in social work and social policy, as well as Project Manager for Gofal Cymru.
Hywel has a strong interest in Kurdish affairs and the Kurdish language, and has spoken at numerous rallies and events supporting solidarity with Kurdistan.
His main political interests are social policy, culture / language and the arts, and he has featured prominently in opposing the welfare reforms advocated by the London-based parties.
He enjoys reading and walking.
House of Lords
Lord Dafydd Wigley
Dafydd Wigley represents Plaid Cymru in the House of Lords. He is Wales' voice in Westminster's upper chamber and works closely with our Plaid Cymru Members of Parliament.
Dafydd Wigley was born in Derby, England. He attended Caernarfon Grammar School and Rydal School before studying at Victoria University Manchester and training as an accountant. He worked for Hoover as a Financial Controller before being elected to Parliament as an MP in 1974. Dafydd Wigley first became President of Plaid Cymru in 1981. Dafydd Wigley led Plaid Cymru to a "quiet earthquake" in the first Assembly Election in 1999 where Plaid Cymru recorded a fantastic result and became the main opposition party.
After a long career serving Wales at all political levels, Dafydd Wigley still commands a huge amount of respect from the people of Wales and he continues to serve our country tirelessly.
