There are up to 30,000 premises in Wales which are currently unable to access internet speeds of 30Mbps or over, but which fall beyond the reach of investment from either the private sector or the UK Government.
We will invest where there are gaps in both commercial and UK-level public sector schemes – including Project Gigabit – to ensure that every home and business in Wales has access to at least superfast broadband (at speeds between 30 and 100 Mbps).
We will also increase awareness of social tariffs for those in receipt of particular benefits, and promoting the automatic enrolment of those eligible for them as a way of addressing digital poverty.
