More Plaid Cymru MPs means Wales won’t be ignored by the incoming Labour government, Plaid Cymru has said.

Plaid Cymru candidate for Caerfyrddin Ann Davies said that the Tories were on their way out and Labour offered Wales “nothing new”.

Ms Davies said that Plaid Cymru was offering a “proper alternative” to the two London parties who “have ignored our communities' needs for far too long”.

Today (Saturday 29 June) marks five days until polling day and is the last weekend of campaigning before people cast their votes.

Some of Plaid Cymru’s main pledges include demanding £4bn owed to Wales from HS2, a fair funding deal, and powers over natural resources to invest in the nation’s economy.

Plaid Cymru candidate for Caerfyrddin Ann Davies said:

"This election campaign, Plaid Cymru is offering Wales a proper alternative to the two London parties who have ignored our communities' needs for far too long. We know the Tories are on their way out, but Labour offers Wales nothing new.

"In Plaid Cymru, people will have genuine community champions. Unlike Labour, we will always put Wales before party. Rather than backbenchers that will simply cheer Starmer on, Plaid Cymru MPs will be there holding his government to account and fighting for the best deal for Wales – making sure our needs are not ignored.

Plaid Cymru is the only party fighting for fairness for Wales. From demanding Wales' £4bn owed by Westminster, to a fair funding deal and more powers to invest in our economy and public services - we have an ambition to truly get to grips with the challenges communities across Wales face.

"With just five days to go until polling day, I'm looking forward to the last full weekend of the campaign and sharing Plaid Cymru's positive message for a fairer, more ambitious Wales."
