Despite the restrictions in place, Plaid Cymru says it is "innovating" to welcome members and supporters online for a full conference programme ahead of 2021 Senedd Elections.

Plaid Cymru's 2020 Annual Conference will be held digitally this year due to the Covid crisis, the party has confirmed.

The original conference dates of 2 and 3 October will be kept, with activity throughout the week in the run up to the digital conference itself.

The party notes the conference will be "packed full of speeches, discussions, fringe sessions, and social events" with a full programme published soon.

A Plaid Cymru spokesperson said,

"We're thrilled to announce that we'll be holding our Annual Conference digitally this year. Whilst we're all disappointed we won't be able to meet in person, we're delighted that whatever the situation with Covid-19, we will be able to come together online instead.

"We're innovating, we're doing something a little different, and we're adapting to the challenges still presented by Covid-19.

"Members, supporters and anyone who's interested in what the party has to offer can look forward to an exciting conference event packed full of speeches, discussions, fringe sessions, and of course social events. With less than a year to go until the Senedd elections,  this year's conference will be the best yet and will show that Plaid Cymru, under the leadership of Adam Price, is ready for Government and ready to implement the change that we so desperately need to see in Wales.

The party's annual conference is now open for registration.
