A check-up on mental health

Outcomes of mental health services in Wales are unclear despite 11% of the Welsh NHS budget being spent on those services, according to a new report from Plaid Cymru.

The report, A check-up on mental health, compares Welsh NHS mental health services with those in a range of other countries including the Netherlands, Sweden, and elsewhere in the British Isles.

Welsh in Education

Assembly Member Siân Gwenllian, Plaid Cymru’s Shadow Minister for Education and the Welsh Language, has unveiled proposals for new legislation which would strengthen the Welsh-medium education system.

Ms Gwenllian said that Plaid Cymru will start the process of introducing a Welsh Education Act within one hundred days of forming a government in 2021.

Care Comission

We're transforming Care in Wales - Here's how you can help

 

I was pleased that Plaid Cymru’s National Council earlier this year agreed to establish a Care Commission to look into the future of social care in Wales.

The Commission has 8 members, is chaired by myself as Plaid’s spokesperson on Social Care, and has representatives with experience of local government, social care, health, the voluntary sector and academia. Plaid’s spokesperson on Health, Helen Mary Jones AM is also a member.
