‘No vote, no voice’. Register by 7th June to vote in the EU Referendum

Plaid Cymru urges young people to get on the electoral register so they can vote

Visiting the Urdd Eisteddfod in Flintshire, Plaid Cymru MEP Jill Evans has reminded young people in Wales of the need to register by 7th June to ensure they can vote in the European Union membership referendum.

You can register by clicking here.

Jill Evans MEP says that the outcome will affect young people throughout their lives, so it is important that they have a voice in the decision.

Plaid Cymru MEP Jill Evans said:

“It is important that young people have the opportunity to vote in the European Union referendum as the outcome will decide so much of their future.

"The EU means that young people have the freedom to travel, study and work abroad if they want to do so within a community that has ensured a lasting peace for generations.

“If you have already registered to vote, you don’t need to do so again, but check with your local council’s Electoral Registration department to see if you’re on the register. The last thing anybody wants is to turn up on election day and be told they can’t have a say.

“Think about where you will be on June 23rd and where you will be able to vote, so if you are away in France at Euro 2016, at Glastonbury or at a different address to where you are normally registered, then make sure you have a postal or proxy vote and that your details are up to date.”
