Following the shadow cabinet reshuffle announcement last Friday, Sian Gwenllian AM and Rhun ap Iorwerth AM have been appointed as deputy leaders of the Plaid Cymru Assembly group.
Sian Gwenllian AM will be the deputy on policy and strategy on matters within the Assembly group and Rhun ap Iorwerth AM will take the role of Senedd deputy which will include standing in at FMQs in Plaid leader Adam Price’s absence.
The Plaid Cymru Assembly group confirmed these appointments today in their shadow cabinet meeting.
Adam Price said,
“I am honoured to lead a united shadow cabinet that has a radical and transformative programme for government. By utilising the talents of our elected Assembly Members we will demonstrate what can be achieved by a committed, determined party of government with a radical imagination and the political will to carry it out.
Rhun ap Iorwerth AM said,
“This is a strong team and every single one of us in the Plaid Cymru assembly group will be playing our part in demonstrating that we are ready to govern in 2021.”
Sian Gwenllian AM added,
“I’m proud to be a member of this group of talented and skilled individuals and look forward to working together as a collective as we move towards the project of building a New Wales.”
