This year Plaid Cymru’s members will be selecting our leader and the leadership election was launched in an informal event during the Eisteddfod.
The launch took place at 7pm on Tuesday the 7th of August, in the Novotel, Cardiff.
Three fantastic candidates are standing in this election. The three are Rhun ap Iorwerth, Adam Price, and Leanne Wood.
Rhun is the Assembly Member for Ynys Môn while Adam represents Carmarthen East and Dinefwr and Leanne represents Rhondda.
The hundreds of members present were treated to three fantastic speeches as the candidates began their campaigns to try and win your support.
Now that the campaign has started all three candidates will be travelling the length and breadth of Wales to speak with members.
Several hustings sessions will be held across Wales throughout September and the ballot papers will be sent out in Mid-September. The dates and locations for the hustings can be seen here:
Every session will start at 7pm (except for the Carmarthen session which will begin at 5pm). Doors will be opened 30 minutes before the start of each session.
All members are welcome to attend the hustings where there will be a chance for you to put questions to the three candidates.
You can find further information on the hustings and register your interest in attending through the event on facebook here.
