Plaid Cymru’s lead candidate in the European election, Jill Evans MEP, has called for cooperation with farmers in order to avoid the devastating effects of Brexit.
Jill Evans will visit the Nefyn Annual Show alongside Plaid Cymru’s Westminster leader, Liz Saville Roberts MP, on Monday.
Plaid Cymru’s Jill Evans MEP said:
“I am very pleased to be visiting Sioe Nefyn today and speaking with hardworking farmers from all across Wales.
“Our agriculture industry is incredibly important to our communities and our economy, and Plaid Cymru has always stood side-by-side with Welsh farmers.
“I am calling on the agricultural industry to work with us now to avoid the devastating effects Brexit would have on Welsh farming.
“The threat Brexit poses to our agricultural industry cannot be understated. There is no version of Brexit which would be good for Welsh agriculture.
“That’s why it’s more important than ever to vote Plaid Cymru in this election - because we are the only pro-Remain party standing in this election that has a chance of winning seats.
“While Labour and the Tories squabble over which version of Brexit they prefer, a vote for Plaid Cymru in this election is a vote to make Wales and our agricultural industry matter.”
